Short version: Deepwell does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything happens locally in your browser.
What we collect
Nothing. Deepwell does not collect or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or usage analytics. The developer has no servers and receives no data from your use of the extension.
Settings stored on your device
Your blocklist, timer preferences, schedules, and daily focus stats are stored only on your own computer using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage). They never leave your device and are used solely to run your focus sessions and show your own progress. You can clear them at any time by removing the extension.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Access to websites: required to check whether the page you are visiting is on your blocklist and to show the block screen while a focus session or schedule is active. The extension does not read or record the content of the pages you visit.
- Tabs: to know which tab is active so blocking applies to the page you are actually viewing.
- Storage: to save your blocklist, schedules, and stats locally, as described above.
- Alarms: to run the focus timer and to start and end scheduled sessions on time.
None of these permissions are used to read, collect, or send your data.
Third parties
Deepwell does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect any.
Children
The extension is a general-purpose focus tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
