Printdeck Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

Short version: Printdeck does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything happens locally in your browser.

What we collect

Nothing. Printdeck does not collect or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or usage analytics. The developer has no servers and receives no data from your use of the extension. The only network activity is loading the captured page's own stylesheets and images into the print preview, which never leaves your browser.

What is stored on your device

Your saved presets and settings are stored only on your own computer using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local). When you print a page, a short-lived snapshot of that page is also stored temporarily so the preview tab can load it; the snapshot is deleted as soon as the preview reads it, and any leftover snapshot older than 10 minutes is automatically cleaned up. None of this ever leaves your device.

Permissions and why they are needed

  • Access to websites: required so Printdeck can capture and clean up the page you choose to print. This only happens when you explicitly start a print job from the toolbar, the right-click menu, or a keyboard shortcut; it never runs automatically in the background.
  • Scripting: to inject the capture and snip-overlay scripts into the current page on demand when you start a print job.
  • Tabs: to read the list of open tabs for the "Print open tabs" batch picker, and to open and close the print preview tab.
  • Context menus: to add right-click menu entries for each print mode, as an alternative to the toolbar popup.
  • Storage / unlimited storage: to save your presets and settings, and to hold the short-lived print snapshot described above.

None of these permissions are used to read, collect, or send your data.

Third parties

Printdeck does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect any. The optional "Donate" link opens an external page (Ko-fi) only if you click it; any payment there is handled by that service under its own privacy policy.

Children

Printdeck is a general-purpose productivity tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
