Short version: Windowsmith does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything happens locally in your browser.
What we collect
Nothing. Windowsmith does not collect or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or usage analytics. The developer has no servers and receives no data from your use of the extension.
Data stored on your device
The layouts you save (the windows you choose to keep, their tabs and page addresses, and each window's size and position) and your preferences are stored only on your own computer using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage). They never leave your device and are used solely to let you save and reopen your window layouts. You can clear them at any time by deleting a saved layout or removing the extension.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Tabs: to read the tabs in each window when you save a layout, and to reopen them when you restore it.
- Storage: to save your layouts and preferences locally, as described above.
- Sessions: to reopen recently closed tabs and windows when you restore a saved layout.
None of these permissions are used to read, collect, or send your data.
Third parties
Windowsmith does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect any.
Children
The extension is a general-purpose productivity tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
