Short version: Blockery does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. All blocking happens locally in your browser.
What we collect
Nothing. Blockery has no servers and receives no data from your use of the extension. It does not collect or transmit your browsing history, the pages you visit, or any usage analytics. Ad and tracker blocking is handled by Chrome's built-in blocking engine using filter lists that ship inside the extension, so Blockery never sees the individual requests your browser makes.
What is stored on your device
Your Blockery settings — which filter lists are turned on, per-site on/off choices, and any elements you hide yourself with the element picker — are saved only on your own computer using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local). None of it ever leaves your device.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Block content: lets Chrome apply Blockery's filter rules to block ads, trackers, cookie notices, and popups. The rules are applied by the browser; Blockery does not read the requests themselves.
- Access to websites (all sites): required so Blockery can hide ad and popup elements on the pages you visit and so the element picker can work on any site. Nothing from those pages is collected or sent anywhere.
- Storage: to save your settings and custom rules on your own device, as described above.
- Context menus: to add Blockery's right-click options, such as blocking an element you choose.
Third parties
Blockery does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect any. It makes no network requests to the developer or any external service.
Children
Blockery is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
